Is it only because the Koran says not to or is there actually a logical reason behind it?

Man, do I love being a Muslim(ah) right now. Just to enlighten you, a Muslimah is a female Muslim; the -ah suffix denotes gender. Anywho...
the reason we don't eat pork, is pretty much the same reason we don't do alot of things that ALLAH (Arabic word for THE GOD, that's ALL) Has Forbidden us to do:
it isn't good for your health. From what I've learned through a scientist friend of mine, pigs have internal organs that are quite similar to a human's... AND they don't have sweat glands (which is why they roll around in mud- to cool off). My putting to and two together, has led me to conclude: these animals may very well be able to produce the same natural toxins that my body can produce, but since they cannot eliminate these toxins via sweat glands, their bodies tend to hold onto these toxins, making their meat harmful to me if I eat it.
How do I know it's harmful? I ate pork when I was seven (if i remember, correctly, through my trauma- it was ham). For some reason, a non-Muslim family member thought it would go unnoticed, and since I hadn't ever seen pork before, I didn't know what it was... besides, I trusted my family member- so I ate what she offered.
AND I GOT SICK!!! Let me tell you! First, there was me- waking up in the middle of the night>>> sweating>>> throwing up>>> feeling faint>>> wanting to step outside of my skin>>> more pain>>> screaming for my parents.
There's a legitimate reason why doctor's tell their high-cholesterol, and diabetic patients to lay off the swine. Since GOD (ALLAH) Created logic and since GOD (ALLAH) Does everything for a reason, why doesn't it seem logical for HIM (GOD-ALLAH) to tell people to not eat pork? And I say people to cover Muslims, Christians, and Jews- because we are all told to avoid it.
Now, anyone want to know why we don't fornicate (when being obedient)?

Almost without a doubt the reason that God's law says not to eat pork is trichinosis, which, though now almost extinct, would have undoubtedly killed people in ancient times who ate pigs. Reasoning from the fact that the hoof is cloven being satanic or that it wallows in its own filth may have either been an effect of the pig or a rationality of the disease.
This is reasonable.
Now pork is fairly healthy to eat, but pigs are hardly pigs anymore and would die without "pig feed." Which is funny, and that with only selective breeding.

everything mentioned in Koran there is a logical reason.
the reasons:
1- It is not clean animal.
2-it eats the excreation of anything.
3-when you cook the pig there are many microscopics doesn't die, So its harm to the human, Hence Muslims don't eat anything harm his body.
4-and there are a lots of reasons (ask scientists)

The popular notion is that they are unclean. The real reason is that pigs are on the same place on the food chain as humans. Because food was scarce in the Middle East, pigs were not welcome.

Because they are commaneded not to eat "unclean" animals and pigs are considered unclean. They are in the Christian world too.. we are discouraged from eating pig.

Don't give me that line about pigs not being clean. Chickens will eat their own crap and muslims(especially the Nation of Islam types) love chicken. Maybe cannibalism is forbidden by allah.

Most Muslims will tell you that they eat their own feces (the pigs not the Muslims) and other disgusting things. Explain that they are raised as hygienically as goats, etc. and you will just get an incredulous stare.

It is not only Muslims but Jews do not eat pigs either.
The pig is considered an unclean animal as it eats it's own excretion.

They stole it from Israel -
first Israel was to be:
Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
one thing was, to be not like the heathen:
Deuteronomy 14:8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
So they got out Jehovah, not Mohammad's bible

Partially in that pork is unclean (it does wallow in its own filth) and the cloven hoof is a symbol of the devil
