My neighbors harrass my kids and call the police for stupid stuff such as having a snow ball fight outside. My children are also very musical and play in a band and practice in their room after school (never after 7:00pm) and the neighbors constantly call the police even though the police have warned them to stop waisting taxpayers money. I am just tired of them harrassing my kids through the police department. HELP????

Each city will have its own ordnance, and as long as your kids are not causing any property damage, then those people need to be reported for "harrassment, and or making a false police report. It should not cost too much, but speak with an attorney and see what options you have. Kids will be kids and by the sound of yours they are having fun and keeping the music level under 7pm. If you can document these neighbors using any bad language towards your kids, call the police and file charges. Keep a video and audio camera available, just in case. Check with your other neighbors and see if they can side with you. Those neighbors of yours need to get a life.

There are times when you should stand up for yourself and fight. This is not one of those times. You do not want to get into a war with your neighbors. You need to find a compromise. Don't let this escalate, feuding with your neighbors can be a miserable and expensive proposition. Positive confrontation such as handing the police a copy of your children's rehearsal schedules and asking them to give it to the neighbor, or asking your neighbor to come over and discuss the situation with you while you give them tea and cookies can be helpful also, but don't confront, or you will regret it.

I have two neighbors who shine spotlights in each others bedrooms in the middle of the night, and sabotage each others sprinkler systems. They have thousands in legal bills from suing each other.

You may also want to call the non-emergency line and ask for a community police specialists to come out and talk to you and your neighbors. Sometimes they are willing to send out someone who can come out and do a little presentation educating the block on what is and is not illegal and general safety tips.

I had a similar problem with a neighbor who caused problems with our kids and called the police on them for playing ball, etc. She would rev her engine when she drove by them, flip them off and call them names. So we did call the police on her and there was nothing they could do to stop her unless she hurt one of them. We did keep our kids away from her and we ignored her until she eventually grew tired of us and moved on to someone else. I suggest you just ignore the neighbor and keep your kids safe. Some people are just mean for no reason at all.

The next time they call the police, ask them what you should do. Most likely you could file a complaint, maybe harassment. Since the police seem to find nothing wrong.

If all else fails, the only other thing you can do is move.

You have every right to be upset that your neighbors are harrassing you and your kids. I am having the same problem with one of my neighbors. Just turn around and do the same thing to them.

If your kids are infringing on your neighbors right to peace and quite they have a right to complain. Just grow up and don't let it bother you if you know your kids are doing no wrong then there is no reason to worry.

welll. you could sue them for harasment, and abuse of the legal system (not sure if the second one would hold up in court) but thats kinda politicly correct, moving is an option to but expensive and stressfull, best option I could think of is talk to them... I had the same problem as a child with troublesome negbors, it happens.
