It depends.

Permanent magnets do not wear out in "normal use". They will retain their magnetic properties indefinitely, or until heated beyond their Curie point. Permanent magnets can also be demagnetized by repeated hammering or exposure to a strong alternating current.

It is possible to create a magnet by repeatedly stroking an iron needle against a permanent magnet. Such magnets are not permanent, and will lose their attraction over time.

Do Magnets Wear Out

It depends on which type of magnet you are talking about, Some get weaker with time and some will loose all magnetic attraction eventually, Neodymium magnets will lose power at a slower rate than ceramic magnets do.
Natural magnets lose very little magnetism ever

You can weaken a permanent magnet by jarring or heating it. I also suppose the power supply of an electromagnet could burn out.
