A person's religion should reflect a person's identity. One should not try to fit into a religion that goes against who they are as a person.

That relationship should be the same. If you believe and are passionate about that belief, or religion then you should live your life accordingly as well as your attitude and personality. Not that you won't mess up and live and do things different from your religion( remember your only human)but you should strive to get back on track.

My identity was firmly established before I enterered into any Church. What my religion offers is a fine tuning of my identity and the chance to grow and learn and come to conclusions for myself.

what about it? I am a Christian and I have none of the severe problems people mention on here. I was not always a Christian, I was an atheist. So I am still the same old me!!!!!!!A dumb@ss. hahhahhaha I just happen to know God in with me now!!!!!!!
