There is no such thing as a "good" place for that kind of tattoo.

on somebody else's body. Sweetie, unless this is a memorial tattoo, do not get a person's name or intials tattoed on your body. It is very bad luck, almost insuring that this relationship will end. I don't know why this happens, but ask any tattoo artist. They really don't even like to put girl's names on a guy or a guy's name on a lady.
Now, getting that out of the way... if this is a memorial one, get it somewhere where you can see it. Put it on your arm. But if you can figure out some other way of memorializing the person, make the tattoo a figure instead. If the deceased liked roses, put that on istead. Or a small heart that has a tear falling from it. A cat paw print if she loved kitties. Make it remind you of that person.

Well, I hope you're not tattooing a gf or wife's name on you.. but anyways an uncommon place for guy? How about the pelvic bone area ( by the waist band of your pants?).

Well if you wear muscle shirts in the summer time then the arm would be a good place to put it, or either on your neck but I heard that hurts pretty bad. SO GOOD LUCK

Charm anklet with names or initials (kids - spouses or boyfriends can change - kids don't) or an arm band.. you can discretely put initials in a tribal tattoo or Celtic tattoo.
