That is, could he choose to repent, or is he now constitutionaly unable to choose good? I know Satan can pretend to do good as a trick - that's not what I mean! Can Satan perform a good act with a good intention (that is, a wholly good act)? Or is he 'locked in' as evil whether he likes it or not?

When he (Satan) started his deceptions,was full aware of the consequences.

Satan the Devil, caused men and angels (see DEMON) to join his opposition to God and man. Satan first showed his opposition in the garden of Eden, where, through cruel and underhanded action, he led Eve and then Adam into a course of rebellion that brought sin and death upon all mankind. In the courts of heaven Satan displayed his antagonism, charging Jehovah with bribing Job for his loyalty, a charge which became an issue of universal importance.—Job 1:6-11; 2:1-5;

No chance from the beginning.

Satan was cast out of heaven for thinking he was better than God. 1/3 of the angels sided with him and were cast out also. Knowing how Satan (formerly Lucifer) acts, he wouldn't want to perform a good act with a good intention. I believe he's evil, and always will be.

Great question! I just wish more would actually answer it instead of commenting without ever answering.

No, he cant repent. There are no other chances for him. Being that he is already a spirit, he cant repent because he is already in what he will forever be in. Similar to a basketball game, after you loose, you cant say I want to change teams.

Satan has committed the unforgivable sin every day since that day in Eden. He has blasphemed, he has grieved the spirit and he has murdered. Every person that has ever died since creation, has been murdered by Satan. There will be no forgiveness for him and he would never ask it. He is wicked. He is evil. Personified.

Satan chose rebellion against God and can not choose to do good. The only creatures that have the option of salvation is humans.

Satan is so corrupted, so full of himself, that, although God would even take him back if he repented, he would not change out of a sense of too much pride. If he is "locked in", it is his own choice to be so. No one made him that way.

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

His problem is pride; there is no hope. Hell was made for him
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Why would he -want- to turn back? It's a matter of pride. He didn't want to be a servant to someone he felt superior too. So even if I believed the Bible (I don't), I'd be thinking Satan was pretty awesome.

Well, maybe those people who believe in him should pray that he repents, surely god has to apply the same judgemental standards to everyone and that seems to be the fastest way to get rid of evil. I don't see why that should be such a novel idea, they pray for other sinners, why not the ultimate sinner?
