my husband is a nuke in the navy..he has just started protype and soon he will have to decide his "wish list" the problem is he hasnt decided to sub vol or not..he wants to because of the family atmosphere aboard the boat but he is so scared that if he vols he will get a fast attack..he wants a boomer..and he is also worried that if he does get a fast attack that i will be unhappy all the time because he will be gone...please tell me your advice and you experiences both husband and wives.. Thanks :)

Submarine duty is, I heard, the best because he gets to be home/close to you for long periods of time between assignments.

My advice? Go surface. CVN's need nukes, too... The silent service is really hard on marriages.
