Like hanging a 16 year old girl for acts incompatible with chastity.

August 2004:
On Sunday, August 15, a 16-year-old girl in the town of Neka, northern Iran, was executed. Ateqeh Sahaleh was hanged in public on Simetry Street off Rah Ahan Street at the city center.

The sentence was issued by the head of Neka’s Justice Department and subsequently upheld by the mullahs’ Supreme Court and carried out with the approval of Judiciary Chief Mahmoud Shahroudi.

In her summary trial, the teenage victim did not have any lawyer and efforts by her family to recruit a lawyer was to no avail. Ateqeh personally defended herself. She told the religious judge, Haji Rezaii, that he should punish the main perpetrators of moral corruption not the victims.

The judge personally pursued Ateqeh’s death sentence, beyond all normal procedures and finally gained the approval of the Supreme Court. After her execution Rezai said her punishment was not execution but he had her executed for her “shar

Mirage - Is the Sharia law and the Hadith and the Sunnah integral parts of Islam?

If they deny that, I'm all for them. But most just don't admit there is EVIL in aspects of there Religion as there is evil in aspects of all religion, but instead of admitting this, they just say its western misconceptions or made up. Address the crap and people will respect you for it. Deny the crap and you get no respect from me.

To anyone who reads the details of this question I say: here is clear proof of the hypocrisy and barbarism of Islam as it is practised and interpreted today. I might add that the Muslims residing outside Muslim countries would be well advised to consider their demands for Sharia law to be applied in these countries as potentially provocative and ultimately damaging to their communities outside Muslim countries. In short, anyone wanting Sharia law should move back to a Muslim country and live under that form of oppression!

I have spent time in Islamic countries and have read their laws and the Qu'ran. Those that would deny this act as being anything but an atrocity are in denial or are hiding something. To gain a fuller understanding of the "religion" of Islam, you should simply read chapter nine of the Qu'ran. It spells it all out for us "Infidels." The Pope had it right several months ago, and the followers of Mohammad prooved him so. Nothing but hatred and vile.
Look at it from an historical perspective. Before Mohammad, the Arab world gave us Algebra, Art, Literature, Astrology, perfume and so much more. Since Mohammad, that region of the world has fallen into an abyss of the darkest of ages and still, has not returned.
From a religious/spiritual stand point, Christ came and gave us two basic laws, "Love thy God" and "Love thy Neighbor." On these, all of the Ten Commandments are based. Christ also warned that there would be others to follow who would say that they are either the son of God or a prophet of God and that they would lead people to damnation. The end of the Judeo/Christian Bible warns that whoever changes the words written is subject to eternal damnation. And then 600 years later, along came Mohammad. And, with no pun or lampooning intended, if you read the biography of Mohammad, it reads a lot like that of John Kerry. -- No political jab intended. Just that he was born a pawper, was not recognized and was given no respect or authority. Then, he married a wealthy widow and was suddnely a "Somebody." He was not well educated and spent a great deal of time in the gutter. He was angry and violent and so is his "religion" to this very day.

What is stopping it is American law, the Constitution and people with common sense who don't panic because some nut case running for office thinks they'll get more votes by scaring people about something that has zero chance of happening and is NOT being promoted by anyone - including Muslims. Besides, Sharia law refers to religious law or rules, and just as Jews can live obeying restrictions on pork and other things, Muslims can live according to both Sharia law and American civil laws.

english laws used to be one-sided. Only recently they got changed. Womens rights movement had a lot to do with getting the laws changed.
Muslim laws have a lot of catching up to do.

You are so full of hatred, it distorts your perception of reality. You want to find fault in a religion, so you try to make it synonymous with culture. It is not. I have met many, many muslims, and never, not once in my life, has a muslim shown me anything but love and acceptance. They believe in tolerance, that all religions lead to truth, not compulsion. There is no beauty in compulsion. Muslim pride is not the one in denial...

The Sunnah and other "extra" documents are the remnants of Hammurabi's laws, the moral code of Mesopotamia. They can be chosen to followed, but are not a core aspect of Islam. Just look at Sufis, they don't follow any of those...

look how you start your question?
"hanging a 16 year old girl for acts incompatible with chastity"

men and women are condemned to punishment if they break the law of the country and not only women as you want it to sound. and God will bring every soul to justice, and every person will be questioned in the day of judgement in the unjust or unfair behavior he or she ever done.
