Do they use the parts?

i thnk that they use the parts for other uses.

If the camera works, it goes back on the shelf. If it don't, then it goes back to the manufacturer for credit or replacement.

radio shack has a company policy that all returns or trade-ins must be made unuseable and then thrown away. often .especially after christmas the dumpster is full of purposely damaged goods.

If new and not working, they are returned to manufacturer for credit. The manufacturer, then checks them, fixes them if possible, and resells as "refurbished" to discounters.
