It happens when you see someone in his eyes that he is clever or stupid, naughty or quiet, good or bad and so many other things... Hasn't ever that happened to you to understand someone by looking in his eyes!?

You can see the difference when you look into the eyes of a live person vs. looking into the eyes of a dead person. You may not get much of a chance to see the latter, unless you are a soldier or a mortician, since at most funerals, the eyes are closed.

Ever heard of the scenario of the parent who asks a child for the whole truth the second time? "now look me in the eyes and tell the truth".....can you imagine this approach in the court room?

I think it just means that you can "see" better who a person is by looking into their eyes than just by looking at their body as a whole...i dont know really, it's just a saying.

I thought it was "windows" - as a mirror, how am I supposed to see anything other than whats staring back??

I love eyes. They do tell alot. You can see anger or tenderness, treachery or love in them. I especially love light blue eyes. Who cares, I know. lol I agree with your statement.
