It depends on who it is, where your at, first impression etc...
usually when someone ask's me for my number and I just met them, I will get theirs instead. Then I will call from a blocked number the first few times or until I feel comfortable or want to take it further. Make sure to meet in public places at first, good luck!!

If you like the person, and actually want them to call give them your number.
However, if they are some creepy dude/dudette then give them the number to the rejection hotline! To find the number closest to you, go to www.rejectionhotline.com. I find the message quite funny myself, and the creepers won't have your actual number.

uh....first of all you need to be more specific. why would they want your number? who are they? how old are they? where did you meet them? how did you meet them? how long have you known them? all these things are important to know before anyone can answer this question. but assuming that you mean you met them in a chat room or something.....dont give them your number!!
