He is only 4 months old and has already dropped and developed all of his little boy parts (cats usually do not drop until they are about 6 months.) He's growing fast as well, I think his hormone levels are higher than a normal male cat of 4 months. He's CONSTANTLY running through the house, attacking our company and climbing the christmas tree. There's honestly no end to his behavior. When corrected he just attacks us and bites us. How do I calm him down? What is the age most kittens can get fixed?

you can get your kitten neutered now... definitely do it before he's 6 months old and starts marking his territory. The rest of his behavior sounds like normal kitten behavior. Around 3 - 8 months is their most playful and active time... and they are crazy monsters at this age, it has nothing to do with his boy parts.
Oh and DO NOT spray him with water or use any of those other tactics unless you want him to become scared of you. The best thing is to holler NO and then pick him up and put him in the bathtub, lights out and close the door. Leave him in there for 15 minutes, like a time out. When you open the door to the bathroom he should come out all sweet and calm. My little guy had many time outs in his crazy kitten hood.

Don't know where you live, but we have a wonderful cat clinic in Conway Arkansas. I just called today to get an appointment for our kitty, he's 7 months old. I called when we first got him and they said he could be neutered as soon as he weighed 1.5 pounds. Since he's probably 6 or 7 now under all his fur, I think he's overly large enough. The vet here is extremely reasonable and very good and as a bonus, is much cheaper than anywhere else around. The neuter charge is only $49. We took our other cat a couple of months ago because he got very sick. After a shot, an IV and some antibiotics, he's doing great! (that cost us about $120.) Kitty Blynx is also very active, but very loving - has never bitten or intentionally scratched. My christmas tree is laying over in the corner now after two run-ins with him and I dont have enough time to take it apart and fix it - probably until this weekend. I did put it up without ornaments, though, to see what he would do. I bought an organic kitty-keep-away stuff at PetCo, but he doesn't seem to mind it. My other cat (who was not a problem) hates it. I'm going to look for citrus spray to see if that will work, then vinegar. They sell stuff called Boundery at PetCo too, but its caution pannel reads like an insecticide, and I don't want that in my house - much less around my kitties and my baby grandson to comes to visit often.

you need to start a dicipline regimen ASAP!! get a little spray bottle from a dollar bin at the grocery store, and give the rascal a little squirt every time he does something "bad" and firmly say "NO". if he bites you- give him a little bite back, like on the ear or his paw. the same thing you'd do with a toddler that bites. you could also pick him up, cuddle him, talk to him gently, and try to calm him down if he's running around like crazy.
you're not giving him catnip, right?? kittens under a year shouldn't be exposed to catnip- for reasons i'm not 100% sure of.
and get him fixed soon- before his behavior gets any more aggressive or involves spraying. there's nothing worse then a ticked off male cat- he will pee in EVERYTHING: hampers, laundry baskets, any clothing that happens to be on the floor, etc.

The age is 6months to get fixed and no sooner.
I live in Oregon and the cost for me was $45. I got in on spay day and got $10 off. I know other states and areas charge quite a bit more.
I think you just have one spirited kitten.
If he is indoors get a harness and leash. Put it on him and take him outside. If he knows the harness takes him outdoors then he will tolerate it better. This may calm him down. I'm doing this on my 6 month old and it certainly calms him down before bedtime.
It's pretty overwhelming having a kitten isn't it?

I have a female kitten who we raised from day one. She, too, was an absolutely reckless feline: running through the house, jumping on furniture, etc. About 2 months ago we had her spayed and declawed. Not only did her temperment change totally, she became more affectionate, and less inclined to go through fits of crazy behavior. Kittens are generally fixed around 6 months of age, ideally before reaching sexual maturity.

Cat can be fixed as early as 3 months. Once your cat
is neutered he will calm down considerably. Do it now!

I asked that same question at my vet's office and the Vet Tech's reply was "if they're showin' they're goin'". Call your vet and address your concerns. I bet they will fix him now. I think they just say six months because that is when it happens for most males.
