Hot tea with lemon and honey in it, especially if you have any throat pain.

Beef or chicken bouillon. (My favorite hot beverage, once you can get past the taste)

Lots of water.

Stay away from ice cold beverages which increase mucus, try to drink room temperature or hot beverages as much as often.

Theraflu works great, but you can't drink it non stop, it's medicated. To me, it's the most awful tasting stuff on the planet, but it works great for colds.

Don't drink milk, milkshakes, or other dairy beverages. Stay away from ice cream, yogurt, and other milk based products. You will end up with more mucus, and a really sore, raw throat if you have too many heavy milk products.

I would recommend you drink plenty of orange juice.
Vitamin C is known for it's positive effects on the immune system thus helping to fight head colds. It is a good idea to drink orange juice all winter to keep your immunity system built up.
If your throat is sore I would drink hot herbal tea with a bit of lemon juice to help soothe it too.

Orange juice and water are good - actually, any juice is good. For nose stuffiness, I often mix a small amount of salt in warm water in the palm of my hand, then sniff it up my nose. It relieves the stuffiness right away.

How about a hot toddy? Rye, lemon, honey and boiling water or if not a drinker, leave out the rye. Lemon and honey is a good cure for a cold

I like to drink herbal tea when I have a cold. I also really like TheraFlu. It tastes pretty good, but it is medicated so you don't want to take it at the same time as other medication.
