My son just turned two and he's picking up more words everyday. But he still makes up some words for things.
Blankie is banks
Flowers are Fires
Toes is Pig-o's (probably from grandma calling them piggy toes)
Pacifier is Nook
I love you is I of ewe
teeth is teets
Train is Traim
Horse is Whore
Factory is Fattery
Dance is Dons
I could go on forever! My favorite thing about the way they talk is how they exagerate the middle parts of words. Cookie is Coookie
or come here is come errrrrrre. So cute.

My 3 yr old newphew made up the work patachuca. He called someone that after he became upset with him. I guess it was his own way of calling him a bad name. Now my son, who is 2, says patachuca. So they call each other patachuca and laugh about it. Well, when I picked up my son at daycare, he has all the kids in his class saying patachuca.

This is a little embarassing, but my daughter calls peoples' breasts "bug-a-boos". I have NO IDEA where she came up with that! It's embarassing because we were shopping one day and she reaches up and grabs both of mine and yells "bug-a-boos"!! She then proceeds to pull up her shirt and point her "bug-a-boos" out to everyone waiting in line. She's only 2, so it was a little funny, but more embarassing. She can't say peanut butter, so she calls it "mena-mena". She has a lot of funny words she uses. Kids are so cute at this age.

my oldest daughter came up with some pretty crazy words. my favorite was "later ago" and she would use it two different ways. for example; " i ate lunch later ago" or " i will eat later ago". sooo confusing.

she also had a default word...decorator. the word "decorator" could mean anything. she would be talking ninety to nothing and just insert "decorator " in place of words she didn't know or couldn't think of. it cracked me up every time and it didn't even phase her!

when she wanted me to pick her up, she would say "i wanna hold you"

she used to wake up from nap and say "mommy did you see that dream?"

it was a sad moment when i realized all of her "baby words" were gone.

When my daughter was younger we had a dog named Sadie. She couldn't say the D sound, so she called her Sasie for a good year. It ended up that everyone in the family called the dog Sasie after awhile. My dad called her Sasie long after my daughter started calling her the right name.

Mungebob for Spongebob - and he corrects me when I say it right!
For a while he called me Munny instead of Mommy - that got lots of giggles while shopping.
At 2.5 years old, he pronounces much of what he says pretty accurately - though I'm a bit bummed because I love those cute (and sometimes embarrassing) mispronounciations.
