What is the point of traffic school? I remember I got two tickets in high school, paid the fees, went to traffic school. . .and when I went to get new insurance, the tickets we're still on my report and my insurance was raised.

What is the point of it? It's NOT taken off your record. . . And it costs time and money. . .

Something I'm not going to have once I pay this damn ticket I just got.

When we went to traffic school, it was BEFORE the tix went on record, then we had to go back to the court after completion or the tickets would go on the record. The idea is to keep them off record, once on there it is hard to get off . (ours never went on)
Did you go back to the court clerk and give them your completion certificates ?

Hi! The three different citations will carry 3 different points values. To find out how many points each citation will carry visit the Los Angeles PD page and look up your citation number for your specific violations. This might also tell you the cost of the total citations if you don't know it already. Often times if you go to court and try to fight the ticket, the judge will throw out the lessor one, or even 2 of the offenses. I did this to a ticket I got and had it thrown out with no points on my record! If this happens, traffic school should clear up most of the citations especially if they are 2 minor and 1 major as your minor ones might be thrown out in court. If you have a clean record stress that in court. AND fight the ticket because chances are, you'll end up getting another. I've fought 2 so far and gotten out of them all.

It gets rid of a point on your driving record. If you have too many points, your liscense will be revoked. However it should prevent your insurance from going up. In reality I believe trafic school is a punishment and a way to deter you from getting a ticket because I hated sitting in that boring *** class for eight freakin' hours on a Saturday.

I guess the point is to waste our time. However, when I went to traffic school the tickets did not go on my record, I had no points on my license. I'm not sure why your situation was different?

$$$. don't ya love this fine country?

Actually probation and parole, traffic school, sr22 insurance... There are a lot of things that the courts do to continue draining your bank acct. The reason for this is because if they came straight out and said,"$3000 fine for speeding", then someone would sue the courts for a violation of the constitution on the grounds of cruel and unreasonable punishment. So instead of punishing you, they send you to school and educate you. Nifty little loophole, eh?

If you go to traffic school, it doesn't count on your insurance.
That's why people do it.
If you're getting so many tickets, then I think you NEED traffic school.
It would also help if mommy & daddy weren't paying your insurance. That would put a stop to your reckless driving right away.

Guess you did not pay attention in traffic school. If you did you would not have this speeding ticket now. Traffic school is so you can keep your lic. If you do not go they can pull your lic. Slow down and save you bucks
