It is far better ,for you to work -out on an empty stomach

then settle down to your meal and relax.

if you have eaten before you work -out :

you will feel lethargic
and not be able to exercises as well .
you may get stomach cramps
put an unnecessary strain on your heart

I have been working out consistently for over ten years now (3-5 times a week for 50 minutes or more) I feel best when I eat before a workout and have heard it is better to eat before. If your tummy gets upset when you overheat, eat after a workout or only eat a small snack before you work out. Then eat a snack after your workout like an energy bar.

Consuming a SMALL carbohydrate meal within one hour of your workout is ideal. This will provide the energy needed for the workout without feeling full. If you consume a larger meal, your body has to work twice as hard to digest the food and recover from the workout, which will put a strain on it and bog you down with a poor workout.

I would say eat before workout because then you would burn the calories from the food you have just eaten. But you would have to wait for half an hour to an hour to be able to workout because you can't workout with a full stomach!

You need to do both. Never work out on a empty stomach and always refuel after a good workout.

It is better to work out before you eat. One reason is because you do not want to much in your stomach while you are working out because you can get sick. Another reason is because you burn some of the calories off of whatever you eat after you are done working out.
