Seriously, I colored my hair myself for a LONG time. I finally went to a salon and now THEY color it for me. WAY easier and looks WAY more natural, of course it isn't cheap, but some things are just worth it. If you are already perming your hair, you could end up doing some serious damage by coloring it yourself. Sometimes I wish I hadn't started coloring my hair at all, just let it go gray!! But I am too much of a chicken! LOL! I REALLY like the look of African American women with REALLY short hair, especially when it is gray. Wish I could do that, because I would. Good luck witrh your hair!

Please try a salon. They can definitely find a good product for coloring your hair. Most coloring lines for gray hair are gentle.
