Not sure which country you are living in, but in the USA, there are laws that regulate what a credit card and collection agency may and may not do to collect debts. It's all covered under the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" and information on this can be found at this useful website address...

There's databases that link families like that. Also, your credit report will show your old addresses, so if you used to live with your family, they just reverse-search the address and find who lives there. That's the most likely way they got it.

well, do they have your lastname, and if they do, they can find out where you work, and then they can get your address and your phone number. and there are other ways, and then places like you insurance company you pay. they get money from them, and sometimes information leaks. or person search on the internet when they find out wwhere you live, that being the one they use.
