Okay, so you think you are agnostic. This means that you are not able to say that there definetely is a God or that there is definetely not a god, because you just don't know for sure. Believers like to say that, because you can't know everything about the universe, it is impossible to rule out the possibility of God existing somewhere. This is true, but I could tell you that an invisible, magic bunny rabbit, the size of a star controls our weather patterns. You can't know for sure that this is untrue unless you check the entire universe. In this case you can say that you are agnostic as well.
We atheists do not accept the god claims, and therefor are nonbelievers. However if real, hard evidence of a god (such as an actual appearance) were to happen, then we would be theists.
So, anyway, there are lots of atheists around.

If you do not have a positive belief that a god exists, you are atheist. Agnostic is NOT being confused about the subject. Theists firmly believe there is a god. Atheists have no belief (they either don't believe or they positively state there is no god). Agnostics state that it is impossible for man to know the nature of the supernatural.
As you can see, many theists are agnostic, which is irrational, but who says faith has to be rational?

I am an agnostic. I think something put all of us and everything here on this planet, but I'm not convinced it was a god. I have been an agnostic for about 7 years because I got tired of listening to the holier than thou people telling me about love but were in tolerant of other's beliefs. Every day there is more happening that makes me think I am on the right tack with my thoughts.

There are no easy answers.
People don't want to be alone in this universe. It's easier to believe that when we die, we don't really cease to exist, but go on to some "better" realm. In fact, I think it's probably a function of our basic survival instinct.
Anyway, there are lots and lots of atheists and agnostics out there, but they (obviously) don't get together and talk about "god" because they don't believe in god.
If you believe in something, have faith in something, it helps if you can be around other people who believe in the same thing. It makes it seem "ok". But, atheists and agnostics don't have that.
So, it's a tougher route to take.
Good luck in your search.
No matter what you decide, you are not alone.

~~~ star,,,,, As you can see, we atheists are 'out here'. Yes it's scary to feel alone although you have now confirmed that you are anything but. You must also face the fact that you live in a country and region of the world which is 90% christian. If you need 'Faith' to get you through,,, then focus on the faith in yourself that you CAN live the Golden Rule by exercising your Birthright to Express your Freewill by further seeking Higher Knowledge and honestly questioning Authority.
I'm an atheist, if by 'atheist' you mean someone who doesn't believe in the Judeao-Christian-Islamic God. Now, there might be some kind of higher inteligence in the universe, but he/she/it is either not all-powerful, not all-knowing, or not all-good. If it were otherwise, we would live in a perfect universe and not be having this conversation! Anyway, don't let the multitude of believers frighten you or scare you off - they won't be running things forever, no matter what they imagine in their hearts. In the end, good people like you will be vindicated, whether there is a God or not; any TRUE God would prefer you over most of the fruitcakes 'worshiping' him/her/it...
Yes, I know that feeling but know there are actually many people out here that are not religious. There is nothing wrong with seeking, an unexamined belief is not a belief worth having. If you are interested in finding people who are not religious to connect with you could see if there is a local humanist group in your area. There are also numerous online forums and discussion groups. I'll give you a couple of links.
I'm an atheist. Keep in mind that you can believe in God without religion though. Don't worry about what others think and figure out what's right for you.
I'm an ateist. It's o.k. to be an atheist. You're only believing in oneless madeup god than most of the theists in the world.
God is a man-made fiction.
I'll write to you if you need a fellow atheist to talk to.
