A few questions for you . . .

What type of cough do you have? Is it a dry cough (no mucus?) or is it a productive cough (juicy/mucus cough?) these two types of cough are very different and can signal different types of possibilities. .. .

If you have a dry cough, and it's been lingering for 2 months. . .perhaps it is not a virus, you probably have allergies.

If you have a productive cough, and it's been lingering for 2 months, I would be slightly concerned. It should not last for that long. Do not do cough suppressants, as these keep the mucus in your chest, which can lead to bronchitis then pneumonia.

Get a second opinion, your Physician should want to prescribe you Albuterol(productive cough only) so that you can clear the mucus from your chest. He/She may also order a chest x-ray to be cautious.

I sure hope this helps, you shouldn't have a productive cough for that long. Also, if it is a dry cough then you should see an allergist. . . .

You probably have very acute Asthma. The lining in your lungs probably dries up a bit in the winter / cold months causing you to cough. You need to get a humidifyer, and get away from any mold if you sleep in a basement.

See if breathing in moisture in the bathroom helps after you let the hot water run for 10 minutes.

Don't take very hot baths, or showers. And drink lots of water for 3 days. You should try to do an Asthma test.

i get a cough every winter. it usually shows up around late october and lasts til february. i don't feel sick or anything. i think it has to do with the air being so dry, because i've started using a humidifer the last few winters and i sleep MUCH better. i just cough a little when i'm outside.

if you don't feel sick, it might just be the humidity. try a humidifier in your bedroom at night, or those Vicks things that you put in the shower to soothe your throat.

If it is around 2 months, then most likely sounds like bronchitis. Also might be bronchial asthma or even allergy. It could even be that you are not sick still, but when you were sick it caused scar tissue or injury to inside your lungs or passages that cause the cough to persist. Best to see a specialist about it.

I did over the summer. There was nothing they could do, so I just took a lot of throat syrups, lozenges and vitamins and tried to take it easy. It could be viral. Have it checked out again if it continues to make sure you don't have bronchitis. Try a vaporizer too for sleeping at night.

Persisting coughing could come from many things in and around ur home. Dust mites in the air, in the rug, in ur cloth living room chairs, ur mattresses, ur pillows, and so many other places through-out ur home could also be the culprit of ur misery. It's probably true. Coughing means that your body is trying to get rid of germs.
