asking a guy to see the movie Eragon over winter break?

I want to ask my ex to go to this movie called Eragon over winter break.We're both into fantasy.He's 22,I'm 24.We went out last winter break but I had a lot going on and had just gotten out of a bad relationship so it wasn't the right time for us to date.We both really liked each other.we live close to each other but comute to different colleges.So I only see him if he visits the grocery store where I work at.We've been friendly lately but I hardly see him and I want to make sure when we talk that it's interesting to him and that I don't seem like I'm trying too hard or anything. I want 2 ask him 2 the movies.should I just go ahead and let that be like the first thign I say to him?he's shy,nerd type and I was his first g/f at 21.thanks.

Tell him you were thinking about seeing Eragon but needed someone to go with that would enjoy the movie as much as you would and thought of him.
