You know, letting them put a chewball in their mouth?

Probably not the best thing to let them do, but if it happens occasionally not something to take them to the ER because of (have some very over protective parent friends).

Regardless of the saying about dogs mouths being cleaner than our own, they are not. They have more bacteria than we do, and they have some that we do not, which means we do not have the anti bodies to fight off the bacteria.

My kids also love animal toys, so I just buy them their own, lol, always make sure it is a different color from the pets, and try and make sure the pet does not get theirs either.

I have cats so the kids love the jingling of the toys, but letting them chew on a toy a cat paw has touched, one that has been in cat litter? ick.. thats why I buy them their own cat toys- kids toys are never as shiny as pet toys either

I really don't think that letting your kids play with the dogs toys is healthy....Are the dogs aggressive?? If they are the dogs can hurt the kids...I don't think it's a good idea at all.

I don't think that would be such a good idea. I have two dogs myself, i have not had thayt prob. yet were my 10 mo. old wants to take the dogs toys. however i guess its the same if the dogs licks your baby all over the face. which in some cases my dogs do that. hmm... but yeah i don't think it would be ok.

Dog toys are for dogs. Keep your kids away from them. It's dirty and bad for your kids. There are plenty other toys they can play with.

There is no permanent damage from it. There is a positive though...children raised with a pet, specifically dogs, have reduced allergies. Let your kids be kids...they're only young once..it won't hurt them.

Wait till they get out in the dirt they put it in their mouth also.
They will get a snack from the diaper if you don't keep an eye on them. Just try to keep them clean.

I wouldn't. There are diseases that can be passed from animals to children. ie scabbies, worms etc.

It would be advisable not to let them.
