Depends on the person and their relationship, just like anybody else. If they were close, they react like they would if anybody close to them dies. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary happens, otherwise. No psychic connection exists. If they never met and one of them dies, for example, having learned nothing of the twin before or after death, there will be no feeling of loss.

Think about if your brother of sister dies, if you are a single child then think about your best friend who knows everything about you dies. Then multiply that by 100 and that's probably close to how she feels. If you are her friend or boyfriend then offer her lots of support and love let her know that you are there for her and that should help her a little even if it doesn't look like much to you now. It will mean a lot to her once she gets through the grieving process. She will go through stages and it can take a year for her just to cope with it but it will be something that she carries with her forever. The best thing is time. Keep an eye on her and if you think that she's in danger then tell someone in her family b/c she may need counselling.

I don't want to know as my girlfriend is expecting twins before christmas!
He or she will probably be as depressed at the same level as a non-twin. I hope so anyway! Depressing question, but a great question too. It certainly makes me think! I wish I hadn't seen your question but I did and I had some kind of urge to answer it.

More than that. When a twin dies, a part of the other dies as well.

the same thing that happens to a sibling when another sibling dies. or that happens to you when someone you know and are close to dies. grief. anger. sadness. guilt. pain. time heals. if time is not healing, it is not normal grief.
