I've had this old Rotel reciever hooked up to my Stanton CD and Turntable for a while now. Out of the back I have two unpowered speakers using regular speaker wire. I never thought about the way I hooked it up, but I think I might have had it backwards. One wire on each set of 2 for left and right has a blue line on it. Is that the negative or positive? I had the blue one going into the positive and the plain grey going into the negative. I just switched it the other way and there seems to be no difference. Does it matter?

Yeah but my question is, which is positive and which is negative? This is your standard stereo speaker wire.. it's thin. I don't make it too loud anyway.
