Workout before.

This will prevent you from being sick, plus your metabolism will be fast from the workout and will quickly digest your food :)

eat before and after. You need food for the energy and there are studies that show fasting b4 will cause more harm than good. You should eat some protein after because your muscles are like a sponge after you work out. Your metabolism slows down when you don't eat and your w/o will accomplish nothing.

I tend to exercise 3 to 4 hours after eating. Then usually I eat about an hour or so after I work out. If i eat right before I work out I get major cramps in my sides.

Workout before you eat. Intense physical activity makes you stop digesting.

Everybody is different, you have to try different things and see what works for you.

As for me, I find that eating around one hour after I exercise is the best way to go. My stomach doesn't have food swimming around that can be bothersome to me.

I also read an article saying that it is beneficial for the muscles to have nutrients after a workout so they can recuperate faster.

Try eating a half a banana before you work out and then something with a bit more protein after your work out.
