oh c'mon. There's no way u could feel left out in trinidad. trinidad is a party island so there's tons of opportunties to meet ppl. just go to the clubs (i would suggest club Zen), or any of the fetes. And carnival time is comin up, everyone is single during carnival. lol. Nothing beats the social life in trini, do u work? just make a friday nite lime wit ur friends at work. if u don't, i'm sure u have neighbors and what not. C'mon r u kidding me? It's not like the U.S where everyone stays inside and just hang out with ppl they know.
5 yrs and u forgot that everyone in trinidad is family? u'll be fine, trust me.

I am a fellow trini, and u need 2 hang out in bars or clubs that are appropriate for your age
51 degrees is a mature hot spot - 25yrs and over

Band launchings (u know we r gearing up for carnival)
SO many more ideas - check out Trini websites to get more info like Triniscene.com or Island People/ Events there are so many just search the web for trinidad and Tobago websites!

I can't really answer that question as I don't know much about your country, except to suggest parties or any special events that is publicised or even your supermarket. What I have to answer to, though, is the fact that your married friends only hang out with other married couples. You must know them, still, but personally if what you say is true,I believe they were not friends to begin with and I commend you for seeking new friendships.
What kind of excuse is that, anyway? I know alot of marrried people that still hang out with their single friends from time to time. And if they cant hang out with their friends because of a spouse's jealousy/insecurity then the union is not stong and the relationship will eventually "mash-up".

You should look foward to the most fun and excitement youve had in ages!!! Yes, crime is high, but you can stay safe by using common sence. Dont flash money or show off and dont go out alone at night, just simple stuff to be safe. Its not like we have the highest crime, other countrys have much more problems with crime, like julien mentioned, we dont have all those bomb threaths and anthrax worries, and plane crashes. Just be alert. Try local foods, there DELICIOUS!!! Try doubles, roti and curry, alo pie, and other local foods and sweets. The exchange rate averages 1US=6.20TT. US cash is accepted in Trinidad, but try to exchange some US for TT dollars. Visit our capital city, theres lots to do there, like shopping and touring. Also visit the beaches, and bluebasin waterfall, the pitch lake, and wild life preserves. TnT has much to offer!!! Have fun, and welcome to paradise!!!! And btw, what is a former trini????????

Maybe you should suggest to your married friends your desire to get out and meet other singel people. All married couples long to "hook up" hteir single friends.
Misery enjoys company.
