This forum is for asking questions, not converting people, so why do people try to anyway? My beliefs are my beliefs. I'm not forcing them upon anyone.

God Bless.♥†

I'm not a Christian. But the bible does say to spread the word. It never says to push your opinion down someones throat until the believe. All you have to do is tell people of your experiences with Christianity. Not tell them its the only way or that it is the right way. The problem is some people think that just because something works for them, it will also work for you. Some can be very judge mental and hypocritical when it come to non-believers. Why? Because most people simply do not know their own bibles. They pick and choose scripture they agree with and ignore the rest. They don't understand that Christianity is about love, compassion and tolerance. Not judging, hating, and blasphemy. Those people are not true Christians. The best you can do is ignore them or stay away from them.

I have been reading since I joined up (answers, not the army) and I have to say, it is an embarassment to me as a US Soldier to see what goes on with religion here. I have to fight terrorists, yes I know most of them are Islamic, or at least pretend to be, but equally I know that they do not represent Islam in anyway.

Though I see Christians and other believers blamed for trying to convert others it appears to me that its the unbelievers who push the hardest to try and make people question their beliefs...and they fail of course.

One wonders what their motivation is. Personally I think they are scared to death that there really is nothing after life and they come here in search of the answer that will help them to find salvation. I can think of no other reason they would want to hang around with the believers here.

It's a basic part of ALL religions to basically make converts. Even the Atheist religion does it. More so than the Christians.

It's the same thing with politics. It is the DUTY of a Republican to convert a Democrat and the biggest feather in their hats was Ronald Reagan, a one time Dem turned Republican Governor and two time President.

We are supposed to try and bring people to Christ. Some people may never hear the Gospel unless they hear it from us or unless they are in a certain situation. That situation could very well be the Yahoo Answers site. When God is in your heart you want to share with everyone. Oh and to the person above, I could say why don't you keep your *non-religion* to YOURSELF? Someone can say God Bless if they choose to. Open your eyes and see that as a NICE thing.

Jesus told us to make disciples everywhere we go. So when I am on here I am to make disciples, in the supermarket, at WalMart, wherever I am I am about the Fathers business.
I have lead 4 people to Christ on the side of this forum.

Glad to here it as our Lord and Savior never forced His love on us either. It was our choice. People always want to be right. It is our natural selves and self control is not what we are born with it is one of the attributes we receive after being reborn.

Some of your religious brethren take their faith a little too seriously me thinks. =)
I guess that's their job, it's not hard to ignore. In fact, its usually pretty annoying, as you've insinuated here, and has the opposite effect of what they are trying to accomplish.

Well that depends on how you say them. It can come off as preaching. Besides, why would you just come on a forum about religion to talk about how great Jesus is? Couldn't you do that at home? It makes no sense.
