Something that comes in a screw top bottle.

More seriously, a red.

a Belgium beer......sausage and wine are not an ideal combination......the tannins in red wine can't get a good flavor in the plait shared with sausage....since it's also a casserole a white wine could compliment each other....maybe....but to experiment I'd try a crisp white like s.v. blanc or fumes ......tradition calls for red wine with red meat and white with white.....it's tough to follow that here cause it's a casserole the main ingredient (sausage) is already over powered by the other ingredients ....still there's not harm in experimenting

A red wine - the type would depend on the flavour of the casserole, though I'd have though a "rich" flavoured one would go well. Quite nice to have a bit of red wine in the casserole too!

"Red"? LOL How helpful is that....

Okay, it's going to depend on the sausage and the rest of the components of the dish.

If it's sausage and egg and cheesy like a breakfasty sort of thing, you can do a sparkling wine

Any sort of cured meat or sausage, especially smoked sausages like kielbasa etc pair really well with rieslings...

Could also do almost any white wine from Alsace region... riesling, pinot gris, gewurztraminer....

If it's smoked sausage you could also (if you prefer reds) do pinot noir...

If it's spicy like Italian sausage and/or in a cheesy or tomato based sauce, a regional Italian red would go best, something like a Chianti or almost anything made from a sangiovese grape

Hope that helps....

Well red I think (and put some in the casserole too!), but wine etiquette seems to have gone out the window these days.

Enjoy.

I would say a Cabernet. Its a bold red wine which spicy flavor should compliment the sausage nicely.

Red...sausage casserole is a hearty dish which needs a strong red to accompany it

Jack Rabbit Merlot (Red) is recommended for bangers and mash, so I'd say it would go with sausage casserole too!

Pending on what Sausages you used, and of course how they prepared. If you serve them with Sourkraut i would recommend a Riesling (preferably from "ALSACE"), There more Crisp and Fruity. You can also serve Red Cabbage. Thats when you go with let's say a Beaujolais or a Pinot Noir.
