1 in 90 pregnancies are twins.
I, myself, have a twin sister, I have a boy and girl twins, being 2yrs. old now.
I thought everybody was born with a twin. I figured out otherwise by the time I was 4 yrs. old. Even after that I thought 'gee, it's like they're born alone, - they're only half a set".

If the twins are naturally occuring, and not from fertility drugs, then YES, there is a higher chance of a twins child having twins.

A woman can inherit a very slight genetic predisposition to produce more than one egg at a time, leading to fraternal twins; but statistically speaking, that predisposition is vastly trumped by the effect of the age of the mother (older ovaries being more prone to make "mistakes"), and of course each of these is but a dust mote in the eye of the fertility-treatment effect.
I think the oft-repeated "skipping a generation" datum comes from the fact that it's the mother who has to inherit the twinning tendency*, that is, a man who is a twin is no more likely to father twins than any other male.
* Note that calling it a "tendency" vastly overstates the probabilities involved, but I couldn't think of a better word.

I have heard that it skips a generation. My ex husband's Uncles were twins and out of him and his four siblings only one of them had twins (out of 14 children). My great Aunt and uncle are twins and there has not been another set of twins in our family for a couple of generations. So - I would say it is definately a possibility but, not a definate probality. My advice to you would be - if you are palnning on children...just be prepared! :)

Your chances are very high. In my family though, it is usually a brother or sister of twins who has them. Though one of my twin cousins daughter had twins, although she is one of 11 children, and is somewhere in the middle of the group.

There is always a chance but usually it skips a generation. So it would be if your grand parent was a twin.

Yes. In fact, excluding fertility drugs, twins must run in your family in order to have twins.
