Well, you have a lot of work ahead of you to be an ethical breeder.

http://www.akc.org/breeders/resp_breeding/Articles/breeder.cfm

Here is a link to akc website on getting started being an ethical reputable breeder. If you aren't willing to follow these guidelines, you really shouldn't be breeding. You'll also spend a lot of money to get all the health clearances for your dog and any male you choose to breed with should have all the same clearances. If you don't do this, you could be breeding a dog that has genetic defects that could be passed on the the puppies and ultimately cost the new owners thousands in vet bills to fix, if they can afford it.

To find a really good stud, you need to go to dog shows and inquire. Any reputable breeder offering their dog for stud will not allow just any female to be bred. They will carefully inspect the pedigree and will want to know that your girl is well on her way to champion titles... meaning she is a perfect example of her breed.

There are plenty of cute ones out there available for adoption on places like www.petfinders.com. If you truly have a love for animals, suggest to your family and friends that they adopt one who needs a good home. You will know that your suggestions helped save a few dogs from being put to sleep due to lack of loving homes.

I'm not trying to be mean here, there are just so many who have the same reason as you do for breeding and really, this isn't for the right reasons.

Why? Are you a professional breeder? Are you just looking to make some money off of some puppies who are not bred correctly? I suggest you spay your dog ASAP. You have no reason to breed and you will only put your dog at risk for medical complications and the puppies will more than likely end up a statistic in a shelter.
You do not know what you are doing, so please do not stud your dog!!!

Oh sweetie, I am sure you are just innocently looking for help but you just opened a can of worms. You are about to be bombarded with emails against breeding. You may want to take your question elsewhere. People tend to have very very strong opinions on this subject. i am not agreeing or disagreeing with them just be warned.

Put it in the Thrifty Nickel/Newspaper want ads, because breeders constantly look there to find animals to breed with their own.

Please dont breed your animal cause we are over run in this country with dogs cats etc .. Look at our shelters and our rescues . As a rescue worker i cannot tell you how many animals i hear of every day being put down because of stupid reasons not saying that yours is. Please just reconsider your choice . Please spay or neuter your pet. good luck and god bless you and happy holidays.

Please do some research before you breed your dog. Purebred puppies die in shelters everyday. In order to produce good quality pups, you need to get your dog health clearances such as their eyes, ears, heart, hips, ect depending on your breed.

However, if you really must, please join your local breed club and they can assist you in responsible breeding.
