No, you don't forget the first person that you love automatically. It takes time to heal from the relationship. But in the end, when you do find somebody else that you do truly love, you look back and remember the good times and the fond memories that you once had with that person. You also remember what went wrong, and how come things ended the way they did-- but mostly in a reflective way. Love evolves into many things through time -- whether it be romantic or companionate love or just feelings of familiarity or friendship.
In the end, you just move on, and you'll find someone that loves you unconditionally for who you are. Someone that's more perfect for you than that first love.
Yet in your case, since you still love him and you still seem hurt from what happened, you can try talking to him to see if he wants to give it one chance. If he doesn't, then being friends with him and moving on is always an option. It's easier said than done, but you can always try and try again. Good luck.

u just try to forget him ... it will be lot difficult ofcourse ... if he is loving and caring .. has given u want all emotions ur expected from him ... then things will be difficult i will still say that ... u try once more .. if things won't workout
see many girls .. who change men like clothes u too feel same and move on ...

If you stll love them and they are available then why not see if you can make the relationship work. If they are not available, then yes, time is a great healer and you will look on them in years to come as a fond memory
