How do you stop cats from going in your yard?

You can use Citrus, like orange, lime, lemon peels. Put them in areas the cats come around, they hate citrus! Plus, its safe and you can eat the fruit, so its almost free to do....if you like fruit.

If the cat belongs to someone, just go to the owner and tell them they need to keep their cat indoors. Tell them that you don't want their cat coming into your yard. If it's a stay, humanely trap it and take it to your local shelter or try to find a home for it.
But whatever you do, do not harm it. Not only is it cruel and heartless, it's against the law.

Last spring, I discovered a kind of herb that is unliked by cats, for sale at my local hardware store/nursery. It is supposed to have a smell that is unpleasant for cats. Maybe this will work.

Also, open areas or dirt or sand resemble litter boxes to them. You can plant grass or use gravel or tanbark to cover this up. What do you think??

If you spread moth balls in the sandy areas of your yard (that cats like to do their business in) they will NOT go there as long as they can smell the moth balls. This also works around the edges of flower gardens.

spray ammonia around where the cats are going but if you have any other pets be careful because the smell will hurt their sense of smell.
