its really simple. My mother used to make this quite often especially when she had extra cabbage to use up. Buy some wide egg noodles and boil and drain them. Cut up your raw cabbage in small chunks or pieces or you can cut it into strips if you prefer. In a large frying pan melt some margarine or butter or even bacon grease for a different flavor. My mom used margarine as it doesnt burn like butter. Add your cabbage and noodles to this and fry until cabbage just starts to brown along with the noodles. Thats it. Enjoy

FRIED CABBAGE AND NOODLES

1 head of cabbage
1 box of elbow noodles
butter

Cut up head of cabbage and saute in butter in skillet. Reduce heat and continue to cook slowly. Meanwhile, in a large pot of salted boiling water, prepare 1 box of elbow macaroni according to package directions.
Once noodles are done and the cabbage is soft, drain the noodles and mix with the buttered cabbage.

Cover and let simmer on low for about 15 minutes.

My Mother used to cook it this way...

CABBAGE NOODLE:
1 head cabbage, shredded
1 onion, chopped
3 Tablespoon butter (or oil)
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 package wide egg noodles, cooked
Melt butter in a large skillet, add cabbage and onion and cook over medium to low heat stirring often. Season cabbage with sugar, salt and pepper. Continue cooking until tender. Add cooked noodles, mixing thoroughly to heat ingredients. Serve warm.

Cabbage, onions...fry in butter till somewhat tender. Add your cooked noodles, a small container of cottage cheese, and caraway seeds...salt and pepper if you like.

A friend of mine makes this a lot...I'm not too much of a fan because I hate the flavor of caraway! When I make it I usually omit this ingredient.
