Wow big decision. Make sure before you get it done you're SURE you'll love Elmo that much when you're 90 cause that thing isn't EVER coming off, at least not without surgery. I recommend finding the image you want and having a custom temporary made, that way before you have to wear it forever you can try it out, you can buy multiples so you can figure out where you want and if you really love it. Here are some websites I found that make the temps:

when getting a tattoo you really got to think about what you want girl this is going to be on your back for the rest of your living days.. I love elmo.. but do you honestly want that on your body?? I'm saying it's cool.. if you want elmo on your lower back you should just do the face it'll be cuter

If you really really love elmo. Tatoos are forever, I know because I have four. I have two that I still love 10 years later and the other two I can't help wonder what was I thinking! But if you are a huge Elmo fan, why not... it represents you. I would keep away from writing his name because guys might think you are referring to someone else...

I might sounds nuts, but wait 2 years, then see. If you still want it, do it. Patience, I think, is the most important thing when you first decide to get a tattoo. Elmo will be on your back EVERY SINGLE TIME you see your back.

why? does elmo hold some sort of symbolism to you?

people tend to be reckless with tattooing and just get what they think is cute. totally lame. especially if you put the name Elmo in letters on yourself. why why why???

i could go on a rant about how people just get a tattoo to get a tattoo, but i won't even bother. just don't get a tattoo of Elmo on yourself. anyone who doesn't know you or why you did it would totally laugh at you behind your back. (harsh, but true, sorry)

What about 20 years from now when no one knows who Elmo is?

it is not the tattoo u should worry about but whether ur skin & the area that u r choose-ing will accept said tattoo. the thickness of ur skin in that area will also determine how good the tat wil look. plus when the needle hits a nerve in the musle ur musle will jump w/no control by u. that can ruin a fine line tat. i know i have been thru this before. there is a lot to think of before u get one. and most importantlly is the the actual subject matter that counts. it is the peripherial things that matter most.

if that's what you want you should get it but think about it really hard before you do because you really might not want that there later on in life. there might be a better tattoo that you want later and you will regret getting Elmo there. what about on your ankle or someplace like that. its a better place to get something like a character.

i think that is a tattoo that you would wish you had not gotten in a few years. unless you have loved elmo every day for your entire life and will continue to love him well into your life... i say don't do it.
