It happens sometimes that relationships are doomed to failure. Although the love is very real, the circumstances are just not right. If there's really no way to make it work, then all you can do is hold on to the memory of it. It will hurt for a while, but at some point you will look back at the relationship with fondness.
Take this opportunity to learn about what you want from a partner. Identify what it is about this person that you are in love with. Then, if the relationship does eventually end, you will know what to look for in the future.
Good luck to you.

Sweetie, it is not about forgetting. It is about Remebering and moving on at the same time. Love is life.. Love is bearing pain love is soo many things that if its not meant to happen you will probably never forget (if you loved) and thats ok. You want to live a fullfilling life that when you are sitting down with your kids all grown up you can proudly remember when you loved someone and it made you feel special. Time helps you to heal the wound, bear the hurt, and move on and eventually time opens up your heart to someone new. But thats life. Love HAS to be wroth every emotion and every sense in your body because love lets you know that you are alive. Love is worth it. Embrace it and let it go at the same time.

Why would it not work? Since I don't know they situation I can't fully comment. However, if you are determined to forget someone go back to being alone for a while and then start dating again. This time try to find someone who you can be with and love. There's an old song and a phrase from it goes "if you can't be with the one you....love the one you're with"

Time is a great healer and one should leave the relationship sooner than later if it is not going anywhere beause the longer it is left, the harder and the more painful it will be. Time heals, you wont ever forget but you will look on the relationship in years to come as a fond memory

Time cures all wounds, and makes you forget feelings too. If deep down you know it won't work... listen!! Your gut will never lead you wrong. There are more experiences out there to be had, and someday, today will be a long time ago. Let it go with confidence.

Sometimes it is impossible to forget a love, no matter how hard you try. Your mind tells you it will never be, but your heart thinks something completely different. There will always be a special place for that love. Life is difficult that way........

Hello
I am going through something like that currently. And it really sucks.
I love someone sooo much and i have spent allot of time with that person but for as much as i love that person i know that deep down that person is never going to change, that he is never going to be all that i need him to be.
I think that you just have to love that person enough to let them go.lol I know that sounds really corny but i think that it is true... If you love someone then you want them to be happy and if they aren't happy with you then that isn't fair to them.
It is going to be hard .... really hard.... prolly one of the hardest things that you will ever do .... but if you love that person then you should want them to be happy.
Best of luck to you

You don't forget it. You move on and reflect on what you've learned and what that person gave you. We take a little from every relationship we are in, romantic and otherwise. Unfortunately, love does not conquer all.

You will probably NEVER forget the love, but instead can focus on the mistakes, and not repeat them. Good luck to you.

How can you love someone but know its not going to work? If you love someone then you always find a way to make it work.
