also? that most people who answer questions on religion and spirituallity think they are budding theologians. It takes years of study to become a theologian so give it a rest will you please all those who think they know it all.

Some sprout so much garbage and try to blind us with science. I actually feel for those who are ofey with the Bible and know their stuff. But not those who want to create an good impression.

Many of the responses are biased and this is problem they want to ram there opnions down our throats. I do not mind people who know what they are talking about.

I studied Christianity at university as part of a humanities degree but I don't regard myself as a budding theologian-the one thing it did teach me though was how woefully ignorant many Christians are of their religion.

It is a false assumption to think it would take mere years to make one a Theologian. Only a few Theologians even exist in the history of the Church. Saint Gregory the Theologian is one. Saint Basil the Theologian is another. You can study for years and years, but to be a Theologian, is something far more than years.

I know what you are saying, I know only a little but I have been studying some for a year now and I still don't know nearly enough, however I do see those who think they know everything and all they know is their biased opinions that they found via google that is from an already biased site. Theologians do not study ways to lie to people they study facts, just as an Archaeologist does, we try to put the pieces together...

You're right and wrong.
Some people have studied the Bible for large portions of their life, even their whole life. But, some people often do believe things like that, or when someone says Christians Only, an atheist will jump in and say "Religions suck" or "Jesus isn't real so shut up",but there are only a few. So don't stereotype, it's narrow - minded.

This is a forum for people to respond to questions with their opinions, ideas and understandings.

Do you want to set a specific minimum intelligence and knowledge level on every topic, so only perfect textbook responses are given?

I think you're the one that should give it a rest. You just don't like some of the answers given, do you?

Go and read an encyclopaedia if you can't handle debate and idea's.

you post a question. someone answers. could be an answer that you perfectly agree to or never at all. some answers can be dodgy, some annoying, some impressive ( but you would still roll your eyes, you smirk). but these are the unbiased, impartial opinions of true people who would want to contribute a little.

and remember, religion is a sensitive topic. some would react too much, some would take things lightly.

So if i didnt go to school for Christian theology for 8 years. Something i would consider a significant waste of time. Since i think its all BS. I cant comment on here? I know someone who has a doctors in Christian theology he thinks im worthy of discussion. The point that many Christians dont know a lot about there own religion is further proof how ridicules religion is. Please if someone has a opinion they can talk. If you dont like it go away.

This is supposed to be a bit of, and at times learn something, there are those who just look up an answer on the net then cut and paste, but there are some on here who do have good knowledge, and everybody is allowed to have an opinion, so if you don't like it don't come here

I have noticed that for some strange, unfathomable reason there are actually more atheists on the religion and spirituality forum than religious people.
It is very weird that people who claim not to believe in any religion, want to spend so much time discussing it. After all, according to their beliefs, this life is all they have. You would think they could find something better to do than to waste their very precious time talking about something in which they should have no interest.

i haven't noticed. i dont claim to be a theologian when i make a comment concerning religion. in fact, i had the option of studying theology in university, but i dont, i study other things. however, the people that criticize my faith deserve to hear my opinion if i have to hear theirs. I dont claim to be the most religious person out there but I am a Christian and my faith comes from my heart. i dont try to teach anyone or preach to anyone, i just defend my faith with the same fervor as those who feel the need to put it down.
