I think you should get both. get the navel done one time then get your tattoo done after. I say the piercing first because you know you want it. the tattoo second because you need to think about what you really want there before you get it tattooed there, remember tattoos are permanent and you can always take out the navel ring if u disliked it. so yeah both because they are both sexy :] but in the end its all about what you want. whether its a fad or not..its your body do what the hell you wanna.

Belly button piercings aren't so hot anymore...a bit nineties if you ask me...
Tattoo's are the way forth BUT make sure you really really want one - it's a BIG commitment...and take the time to pick a design you really love. It;s best to go for a consultation with the tattooist (ask friends for recommendations) and then you can be sure that you're getting something you really love.

Neither are very origional. Belly botton piercings are lame. Back tattoos can be cool, but if you have any second thought at all, you should not be getting a tattoo. I recommend nipple piercing, I've had mine done for over ten years and I still love them. Even more than any of my tattoos.

You should get whatever you feel is the right thing for you don't let anyone tell you what you should do just remember a piercing can be taken out but a tattoo is permanent.

Get the piercing. I have a tatoo and a belly button ring. I can take the piercing out whenever I want, the tatoo is there forever...

Get a tattoo, just not on the lower back. Navel piercings are cute...but you should really do what makes you happiest and what you find to be attractive and appropriate.

What about nipple piercing like the person above said. Maybe a tattoo on the side of your body. If I had money I'd bet you're getting one of four things:
butterfly, fairey, flowers or - god forbid - a name.
You know some artists charge extra just for getting something tacky?
Think about it, as I'm sure you're well aware, it's permanent.

piercing, tattoo on you lower back will end up on your calves as you age LOL, seriously though, if you tattoo your body it will be a pretty much permanet markig on your body, yes yes you can remove it, but do you how much it costs to remove a tat? almost a thousand bucks and then yo get this big scarring that needs to be surgically removed too, so at the end your tatt would have costed you thusands

Piercing. They are not permanent. You can always get an airbrush tattoo that will fade over time or come off with rubbing alcohol.

I think if you must do one or the other,go for the piercing.You can change your mind later in life with a piercing,you don't really have that option with a tattoo.Good luck.
