I have three, one or each color. As pups they will literally eat until they explode so don't leave food out all day. About three cups is the max until they reach full size and then about two cups a day is enough even for an active lab. My choco blew up to 90 pounds and she is short, so I had a woman who walks long distances each day take the dog along and I cut her back to two cups of Purina fit and trim and she is at 67 pounds and looks like a showdog. Labs are loving dogs but they need to have the human be the human and in control. Labs will get fat and die if you do not.

Use the following guidelines to feed your new dog properly:
To feed a puppy from weaning to four months of age, offer a 100% complete and balanced premium puppy formula. To determine each serving size, start with the daily amount recommended by the feeding guidelines on the pet food label and divide that number by the number of times a day (usually 3 times) you plan to feed your puppy.
Serve the food at room temperature and remove the bowl within 30 minutes after he's done eating.
After four months, you can feed a puppy twice daily on a regular schedule.
Always provide your dog with clean, fresh water.
Discard uneaten wet food at the end of the day.
Don't add nutritional supplements to your dog's diet. Adding commercial dietary supplements or "people food" such as hamburger, eggs, cottage cheese or cow's milk is unnecessary and may even do more harm than good.
Feeding Tips for a Teething Puppy
Puppies grow quickly and have special nutritional needs. The most noticeable period is known as the rapid growth stage, which occurs between two and six months of age. From about three to six months, most pups will lose their puppy teeth (don't be alarmed if you occasionally find a tooth near his dish or on the floor).
During this phase, however, a puppy's mouth and gums may be very sensitive, which could cause him to be a bit picky when it comes to eating. There's nothing you can do except to wait out this period, even if his appetite is affected for a couple of days.
Helpful hints
Don't switch to a new formula to stimulate your puppy's appetite. Changing food at this time can cause additional stress and intestinal upset. To help your puppy make the change, consider the following options:
Mix his regular premium dry food with a premium canned puppy food to make his diet more appealing.
Soak dry food in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Feeding a dry food and biscuits help loosen the teeth so pups can get through the teething process quicker.
If his appetite loss persists, see your veterinarian before you switch food.
Good Luck!

It really depends on the food. Dogs usually eat less of higher quality food, which is nice since it costs more. But I would personally ask a vet or someone knowledgeable about what would be the right food for your dog. It can be a tough choice, and it's hard for us to guess without knowing more about your dog and their needs.
If the dog has allergies or medical issues they require different food. Or energy levels require different food.
If you want to some where to start from though, I suggest the websites I listed below! Good luck.

It depends on what you are feeding him and what his activity levels are. I feed Canidae and I feed my dog which is 3 years old and weighs about 85 pounds 2 cups a day. Each cup has about 1400 calories if I remember correctly. His activity levels are really high though and I can still see his last rib and his waistline.

Labs are notorious over eaters, never allow them to free feed. They should be fed three times a day (one cup) until six months old and then two times a day 1.5 cups until age one. My lab eats 2 cups now once a day.

I also have 2 Labs. Feed any puppy a food high in protein and follow the amounts listed on the bag. Of course, the amount used also would depend on the amount of exercise your dog gets daily. I have used Iams products.
