A bottle of unopened red wine will last for years outside of the fridge, in the fridge... the cold may actually be detrimental to the wine's health, but you could plan on drinking new year's eve 2009.

As others have said, it *should* be fine. It won't hurt you, so give it a taste. If you're concerned about serving it to guests, you can either pick up another bottle as a spare, or open this one and test it in advance. With the cork pushed back in, and stored in your fridge, it'll be OK for several days. It is best to store wine in a cool, dark place, however. You can pick up an inexpensive (under $100) 12-bottle wine cooler to store your wine in without worry.

In my House usually not that long !
All in all it depends on what kind of that Heavenly Juice you're talking about. I am a French Wine - Buff and prefer Rhone Wines(Cotes du Rhone Villages) form the Southern Rhone, they have more Tannins, lots of Dark Fruits like Cherries, Blackberries, little Pepper and Tobacco at the end. Since almost all French Reds are a Blend (and well done too), pick your Favorite and enjoy !!!!!!

standing up right is not the best position for the bottle. All wine bottles should be stored on their side to keep the cork moist. Otherwise it will dry out and make your wine icky. I have kept one in my wine fridge at 56 degrees for years.

I wouldn't put red wine in the fridge, it is usually served best at room temperature. It also should be store on its side, I believe so no air will get in by keeping the cork moist. And I think it will last indefinitely if stored properly.

I would think an unopened bottle of wine in the refridgerator would last months, at the very least. I hope you don't plan to serve it refridgerated though.

red wine is supposed to be kept at a certain temp...and cold isn't one of them! If wine is unopened, you need to store it at the recommended temperature, and it can last for years!

As long as kept unopened it will last just about indefinitely and you do not have to keep it in the fridge either.
