Why do people want their childrens names to sound good together I mean I hear all the time. I have two kids Ethan and Isabella What names sound good with that set of names. Most sibling grow up and have their own lifes and live in different cities and states so they are not connect forever. Why not just choose name that you like versus what sounds good together. I am not trying to be mean just curious.

Because forever and ever in records and in the family people will talk of all of the children together. In cards and letters it will have the whole family's names together. You want to be able to talk about YOUR children who will be your children forever and you want it to sound nice and roll off the tongue. And sometimes people want themes. Like Jeff and Julia's kids names would be Jonathon, James and Jeremy. All J's. And sometimes all Biblical names or what ever. A name is very important it will carry with them through forever. Sometimes keeping a theme is an easier way to find the perfect name in all of the possibilities.

Well, it's just like picking out a first and middle name for one child - you want something that isn't awkward to say. It goes for two different kids. How many times are you going to have to answer the question, 'What are their names?' Ethan and Isabella rolls off the tongue but something else just might sound awkward (sorry, my imagination is malfunctioning so I can't come up with any horrific examples).
I just don't like it when people give their kids similar names like Michael and Michelle or Kyle, Kyla and Kayla (real examples that I know). But that is their choice, not mine so I don't have to like it.
So, are you looking for a name for a 3rd child? Hmmm, girl or boy? How about Emily or Amelia (if you are avoiding repeating the first initial) or Brian? Those are just off the top of my head.
My parents intentionally gave my sister and I the same first inital and names that rhyme. I don't see a problem with it except that when we were young we always had to figure out who my mother was yelling for through the house. I unintentionally gave my kids names that end with the same letter (and also somewhat rhyme). My husband's family - all 9 kids have their parent's first name for a middle name, the boys have their father's name and the girls have their mother's name.
BTW - thumbs up for the name Ethan - that's my son's name, too.
Sorry about the lenght of my answer - I'm very chatty today (gotta lay off the coffee).

A lot of people like their children's names to flow well together because it is aesthetically pleasing to the ears, and eyes (when the names are written).

Also, I don't think it is fair to say that MOST siblings move to different states and are not always connected. I have a big family and everyone is very close to one another, so even if people live far away from eachother does not always mean that they are not connected.

what sex are you looking for or not sure yet? I actually go with the first names flowing with the middle name. I'd stay stay away from another A-ending or N-ending unless you like that flow so try Makayla, Jayden, Rebeckah (or Rebecca), or Sara(h). Although it kind of sounds like you like the vowel beginnings so try Andrew, Adam, or Elizabeth. And if you want totally different go for Caleb, James, or Brady.

I think that when people ask them the name of their kids they want to say something that sounds good. For example a parent wouldn't name their kid Brontosaurus and Cheesebox but they would name them Anna and Brandon.

I picked all my childrens names by the letter "s" then the last one popped up and I didnt have any more fav s names. so we went with Grace. Its when you yell at them you want it to flow good.
