It is sometimes difficult for adults to comprehend the fact that God has always existed and had no beginning, so it is not easy for a child to grasp such an idea, but if you study the Bible and draw close to God, you will acquire the knowledge needed to help your cousin to appreciate our Creators qualities.
Show her these Scriptures and maybe they will help--
Psalm 90:2--"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
Isaiah 43:10-""Ye are My witnesses," saith the LORD, "and My servant whom I have chosen, that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me."
1 Tim 1:17--"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."

8 years old huh? It is true that children have the kingdom of heaven within them. ALL my life I have been a Christian, one God, Father in heaven. Just this year for the first time in my 26 year old life, I read in a book about a mother God. My brain & the neurons within almost caved in. But it explained it as if there is a Father in Heaven, there is most likely a female counterpart! I was taken aback to say the least, but we don't know! How can we? Jesus said there is a Father in Heaven, He never said there wasn't a mother. Also in this book, she (Sylvia Browne) wrote that there is a section in the bible that touches the subject lightly, that Constantine (the bible compiler) may have made an error, (as in the book she was saying it was a conspiracy to keep women submissive ~ it worked didn't it? Till now!) but in Genesis 1:26 it says:
And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness; and let them have dominion over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the air, and over cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

If I had an enlightened li'l cousin as u do, I would ask her what else she knows? What does she think of heaven? What does she know of a mother God? Does she remember heaven, some kids do!? She sounds ahead of the game to me.:o] Don't forget, all things are possible with God.

If you explain that God made mothers and that He is not created then it may help her. My daughters know that God is not a created being from the age of 5. I think we have to give more credit for what they can understand.

Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Tell her that God does not have a mother, but that God was the very first mother, who gave birth to the universe itself. You can give a more detailed (and precise) description when your cousin is older.
