Yes, it freaking hurts. Both of mine hurt...period.
Oddly enough, the first one was ripped out and that hurt less than the actual piercing. I have full sensation, plus you can do more, and decorate better :)
Seriously, DO NOT listen to anything that starts with "I heard that..." or "I had a friend who..." because those stories are always exaggerated if not simply BS.

It hurts like a mother fvcker when they do it. And for a while afterwords. If you want them both done be sure to do it at the same time or you won't go back. Both of mine are done and it was THE MOST PAINFUL experience of my life. I have cut off half my thumb and broken many bones but none of that was as bad as the nipple piercings.
Oh yeah, they are so much more sensitive than they used to be. It is almost too good. But take good care of them. They will infect very easily. And although I am a guy, I wore a sports bra like thing for support. Make sure you wear one at all times. It is horrible if you go without it.

Just so you know, I haven't had mine done. BUT, one of my close friends has had hers pierced, as has my husband. Here's what they've said:
The first one, they agree, is not so bad. Yep, it hurts. There's someone sticking a big ol' needle through your nip. Luckily (and this assumes that your piercer is experienced and good at his/her job), it is quickly pulled through and replaced with your jewelry of choice.
The second nipple is worse. For one, your hormones are all pumped up from the first pierce; your heartrate is up and your blood sugar has dropped. (Some salons have glucose tablets to eat before getting pierced to help avoid a "crash.") Secondly, YOU KNOW WHAT'S COMING. You've just had some pain, and you have to look at your piercer and say, "Please, sir, I'd like some more."
As far as sensation goes: Neither person I know has mentioned any loss of feeling. On the contrary-- my friend is very vocal about how she was super-ultra-sensitive for the first year or so. As for my husband, well.... let's just say they're a handy shortcut in bed. ;)
Not sure if you're male/female, but if you're a gal and decide to get it done, make sure you have a comfortable cotton bra for your aftercare. My friend said the biggest mistake she made was trying to go without. Ouch!

Yup, it hurts. Wasn't too bad, but I do have a high pain tolerance. Worse than the actual piercing is the maintenance. They can take over six months to heal and you have to be very diligent with cleaning and care. I have had mine done for over ten years and do not have any reduced sensation, if anything they are more sensitive. Go for it!

the first one hurst more than the second one try pinching your nipples for like a minute real hard. if anything u feel your nipples get more sensitive. what sucks is that if you decide to take the rings off the scars look nasty and you really have to take care of them so they wont get infected otherwise you get an awful smell and the scar gets worse. and when the piercer tells you not to let no one mess with them for a whole month follow directions!!

yes there is a very big chance that it will ruin the feeling in your nipple ive had a friend that cant feel anything in his left nipple and others i know have had a infection that caused their nipple to become permenetly disformed even if you take good care of it sometimes it gets stuck on a shirt or something your wearing and pulls and stretched it out his nipple looked nasty personally i dont think its worth it at all ive had my tongue pierced belly ears etc... but from seeing my friends go thru that it was not worth the looks of it.

Mine didn't hurt too bad. It was link a bad bee sting. The worst part for me was having overall sore nipples for the next week. It reminded me of an on going titty-twister. Once they healed up they were fine, I experienced no increase or decrease in sensation.

It actually increases sensitivity. Feels a little strange at first with temperature changes, as in the nipple changes shape in cold vs. warm temperatures.

It hurts like a b*tch to get them done, and professional piercer and all, I did have some difficulty for the first month or so (they hit a vein). I've had mine 4 years now, and the one time I thought to take them out, I missed them within a day. I like mine, but, yes, it hurt a ton.
