My son LOVES make-believe and role playing...

He gets very intense with the ideas and scenarios that he comes up with... BUT, as soon as I or his mother start playing into the whole make-believe, he stops... He comes over, puts his hand on our shoulders, tuts and says "you do know this is only pretend??" Then sighs, shakes his head and rolls his eyes...

Aren't WE supposed to be the ones to tell HIM that it is only pretend???

:D

NO. 4 12 months olds must have a organic curiousity about the human anatomy more often than not, yet such reflects of sexuality and sexism must be of problem. Ask your mom: Do you hearken to what he listens to? How does he comprehend what a "hump" is? What does he see on television? mom more effective nip this contained in the bud before he comes abode, bragging about how he were given some contained in the stairwell at college, were given an STD from some "ho", or knocks a lady up and could pay no concepts to the challenge. good for you for asking, yet now's the time to coach acceptable sexulaity features and definitions. Have mom examine the web (do a Google seek for for "age acceptable sex communicate") and get in contact now.

He's normal just sit back and enjoy his show. If he is telling you its pretend then do you really fell you need to tell him its pretend? It sounds like he know that and is just having fun with his imagination. My 4 yr. old does it all the time but he loves to make sound effects.

LOL!

Its normal.

My cousin did the same thing when he was 4 (hes 6 now and pretty much still does it)... if he got mad at someone he would tell them, "I'm gonna go over there and pick that truck up and THROW IT AT YOU!" and we would tell him he cant pick up a truck and he would tell us this story about how he once picked up a truck and threw it 10 feet... and stories about how he tied his brother to the back of a car and made our grandfather drive the car down the road. Kids are silly.

LOL! That is so funny my 5 year old daughter does the same thing! See act's like me and her dad have completely lost our minds any time we try to get involved when she's pretending. Kid's are just so funny. They grow up way to fast.

I think it's cute. Role playing can be a wonderful thing for a child....be worried if all he wants to do is sit in front of the tube all day long!

yeah its for a child to role play and make believe and its ok and normal for a child to use their imagination. but you need to tell him the differences in between real and not real. he needs to realize you have every right to play along, its just playtime.

Haha. That's why kids are so darned much fun! What a good imagination he has! Guess he doesn't want your input. Probably thinks you don't do as well at it as he does. Hahaha.

its good to see that a child has such a wonderful imagination. theres nothing wrong with that, the only thing to remember is that you as a parent must let him/her know when their is time to play and when not to.
