There are lots of ways to organize. My suggestion is first start by sorting 1) keep 2) sell 3) donate. I bet you are amazed at how much stuff they have that is no longer played with. Then use clear totes and label the fronts. The last step is to teach your kids to pick up after themselves and use the totes when done playing.

The first thing you need to do is decide if you are going to theme the room in parts or as a whole. From there choose your colors and work from there. Sometimes you can go from room furniture to wall color instead of wall to furniture. Magazines and Binders are great because you can tear out all the ideas and inspirations you get and have them all in one place. then when you think you have enough research you can sit and go through them to come up with a plan. Taking a sample of color swatches from paint places is also great for color ideas. DIY sites and Home and Garden sites are also good for ideas.

A good start is making sure the closets are organized (a double hanging system for twice the space). More clothes/stuff in the closets means less dressers, etc. Those closet organization systems are nice. The custom ones are pricey, but you can DIY with component pieces from the home center. Good Luck!
