How about Boston?
Question within a question.
Are Chesapeakes good dogs?
I guy my hubby works with has a female Chesapeake and he just loves this dog.
Hubby says she is the smartest dog he has ever seen. He says she's just amazing.
There was one up for adoption at the shelter in the town where my hubby works. By the time he called on her, she had already been adopted. The guy at the shelter told my hubby that when they get Chesapeakes, they get bombarded with calls about adopting them because they are so popular.
Just curiosity on my part. Up until my husband told me about this co-workers dog, I had never heard of a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

I have a Golden Retreiver named Jake, so of course I think that is the best name, he is my best friend. Some other good names for male dogs though are: Buddy, Bo, Max, Luke, Jesse, Duke, Charlie, Tanner, Maverick, and Tucker. Good Luck!

I always liked Chivias. Like the whiskey.
Dean Koontz used it as a name in a book of his.
My dogs are Bruno A pit, and Kona, a Beagle. Both males.

How bout Scout. For the fact that he will be a hunting dog and "scout" out animals to hunt. Good luck with your new puppy!

NSDTR's are somewhat popular in Alaska. A cool name humm...
Rhett, like for retriever! Or something accosiated with his pretty golden red orange color! They have great smiles to making them a somewhat happy breed.
Best of Wishes...

I love Tanner and Dargo but those name sound more for a bigger breed... I had a Great dane and I called him Ruffus Duffus (RD).
a good name for him could be "Kio"
(^_~) good luck in finding a great name for your puppy!
