Well we have a life force that much has been proven by science, our bodies project an electromagnetic field that is why when you go to the doctor for a M.R.I. (magnetic, resonance, imaging) he can tell if you have an illness that effects the body, the human brain also produces electromagnets impulses that fire neurons it move the body(or something like that), when we die i believe our beliefs guide use to whatever afterlife we believe with all our hearts, those who don't believe in a higher power like a few people i know will simply cease to be until they are reborn again.

yes, we have (and are) souls. I believe this because this is what the Bible teaches, and it is also common sense.
These go together. The Bible makes sense to me, and it also gives the most believeable explanation of who we are and how we got here, etc. It explains everything, and is by far the most believeable explanation of how and why things are the way they are in this world (man, the universe, etc.). It explains everything far better than any other system of belief (including Darwinism -which is clearly impossible from every possible standpoint - especially from the scientific standpoint - it's scientifically and mathematically impossible).
btw, the verse quoted by the guy above in the Bible where it says the dead know nothing is speaking from a human point of view. It means, more than anything, that the dead don't see what's going on in the world the way the living who are here see it.
Those who die go to be with the Lord (in Paradise, and they will eventually be in Heaven with Him for Eternity) or else they go to the other place (Hell), where they await their final sentencing by God at the Great White Throne Judgement after which they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire to be tormented day and night forever and ever (for making a mockery of the sacrifice made and given by God's Son on the cross for their sins).
Source : The book of Revelation (specifically chapters 20 - 22).
btw, the dead don't become ghosts and come back to haunt people. "ghosts" are spirits, but not human ones. Generally they are demons (fallen angels).
good luck and God bless you as you seek the truth and the real answers to the big questions.

The bible does say we are souls, does not say we have or contain them. I agree with Abdijah.
And out of all the people who were resurrected, have you noticed they never said anything about being from Heaven or Hell? I mean really if I was resurrected and came from either believe me I’d be talking about it. Especially heaven, but nope when resurrected it was as if they were just Woken up from a deep sleep. Stuff like that wouldn’t just slip your mind. The only person who said he had come from heaven was Jesus. So personally I don’t believe that when people die that they can see or remember anything as a sleeping person is temporarily unconscious

Well, i haven't seen an answer i totally agree with yet, so here's mine. First of all what most people believe your soul is, is actually your spirit. We are first spirits, that dwell in these bodies. Your soul is actually, just your emotions. When people say follow your heart you are actually following your soul. I believe that if your a christian your spirit, leaves your body and goes to heaven. If not then unfortunately your spirit will go to hell. I asked the same thing to a bunch of people, interesting answers huh?

Abdijah is correct from a biblical stand point. The use of the term soul has become miss-used and therefore construed. Abdijah has given you a foothold to place your theological weight upon to start your journey in the knowing of the great I'M. If there is truth we must stand upon truths tested. Oh lilly were did ya get that sexy pic=)

No, the concept of the soul is just a by-product of language. If other animals could speak, they would come to the same conclusions regarding "the soul". It's just that pesky consciousness...

i believe so..... i do think one either goes to heaven or hell..... but i also wonder about purgatory, maybe people go there while awaiting their eternal fate! the things that people believe to be loved ones coming back i think are demons in our world..... this will be an interesting question to watch... thanks for asking!
