Healthy eating and exercise I'm afraid. Ensure you eat a healthy breakfast though, dont starve yourself......if you starve yourself your body will try its hardest to hold onto all the fat that it possibly can....you will just feel hungry all the time!
Maybe you could join a weight club for support, they always help to push you in the right direction and keep you going!
Take up a sport too.
But most of all, start after christmas, dont want that turkey going to waste!

Thank you to one of the answers for telling Me what a Stone was. I have never heard of this before and I'm not an American. First of all I am sure that you know of all the diets out there everyone who is over weight does. We all know that we have to exercise more but it is hard to do. You have to start out so slowly and work your way up. Here in Canada I take a drug from the Dr. It is called Meridia it works well for me I am 5'5 and weight 130 lbs but when i gain to 140 I take it and lose it in a month. It is the serotonin that is released in your brain that tells you that you are full. It just increases it. Also there is a web site that I have used in the past called sparkpeople.com it is free and helps a lot with encouragement.
Good luck with it. Iwould like to add that I checked the DR Bergers profile and he has answered many questions with the same answer over and over this leads me to believe that he is marketing the product that he is telling you about. just a heads up!!!!

I've been following a diet ready for Christmas and it's working great.
I've been eating smaller amounts 5 times a day - really easy. You metabolism is constantly working and your body wont store the fat. Obviously you will need to be eating healthy foods. I've been eating alot of fruit in between reduced amount main meals. by reduced amount, I mean 1 slice of toast for breakfast, soup or salad for lunch and no carbs for dinner.
Team this with the gym or some sort of exercise and you'll start to notice the difference in 2 weeks. I feel fab doing it and it's easy to follow. DISCIPLINE is the answer.

i have lost 3st since may this year, first i cut out chocolate, it was hard but worth it, i also looked at the "fat content" in the foods i ate... that gave me a shock!!!, i try not to have anything with more than 5% fat in it,... NO WAY was i going to a gym so i brought a treadmill off my freinds catalogue and i go on that most days, now i have lost all that weight i am having a "bad" time at the moment!!!! i put on about 2lb in the last month, but i will start again in the new year, i have about another 2 stone to lose, good luck

i'm in same boat i'm 5'2 and 11 stone!
gonna start following my blood group diet in the new year this works for me. i'm type o and have to have a high protien low carb diet, which is a little hard cuz i hate eating meat but i feel my health is at risk now.
so you could find out your blood type and check out the website as to what you should be eating.
i'm a firm beliver in what works for one does not work for another
i'v been on loads of low fat diets and i gain weight???!!!
good luck however you decide to do it!
oh and do not forget to exercise as well!

do cardio vascular exercise. . .I did 30 min a day, watched what I ate and did 10 min of wieght training 3 times a week and in 2.5 months I lost 42 lbs,

Try Rosemary Conley. It's diet and exercise. The latest G.I jeans diet is fabulous.
I shall be doing it - after Christmas though. (!)
You need to exercise to increase your metabolism, it's no good just eating less. Exercise will produce endorphins - the feel good hormones so you will actually feel more motivated when you do get going.
It just takes that initial step...... and don't make excuses. There isn't one.

13st=182lbs, 9st=126lbs. Isn't it just like an American to demand this be converted into their language?
Advice: eat less, exercise more. And don't worry about how much you weigh, just be confident. Confident=sexy.
