I was born and raised in Sacramento but honestly I would say that I do not feel at home in Sacramento. There really isn't a lot to do in Sacramento. Sacramento isn't really a cosmopolitan city yet and has a long way to go. Also, I believe that I was born a free-spirit and that I was meant to travel. I guess that's why I say I don't feel at home here because I wouldn't feel at home anywhere, except maybe Toronto, Canada. Toronto is the best city in the world, hands down and I wish I could set up shop over there.

Sacramento is a good place to raise a family. However, if you're young and want to have fun, Sacramento is not the place for you. The club and bar scene leave a lot to be desired. It's a nice city, though. It's not too big and it's not too small. It's near the mountains and near the beach. It's just like every other city, with its pros and cons.

Born in LA. Lived in SF, Berkeley, San Berdoo, Santa Barbara, Seattle, Sacramento, and near San Diego

Sacramento is civilized and sane compared to the rest, and has financial opportunities for the individual. And kids can be raised there.

After that, you pretty much gotta go to Idaho or the Aussie outback for anything resembling a controllable, less-expensive, less hassle environment.

Lived here for 8 years from Southern California. I like it because its a little bit slower than Los Angeles and San Diego. Sure there is traffic but usually most of it goes away within an hour or two at most. Southern California traffic could last up to 3-4 hours or more. Plus its a great hub for trips to San Francisco and Tahoe.
So yep its been home for 8 years and probably be home for more years to come.
