You kids give each other some really tall tales. No, masturbation does not cause acne. No, 14 is not early - many kids masturbate long before it is a sexual thing because, hey, rubbing that part of your body feels good. Keep your face clean and try some non-drying acne products if the pimples bother you, but remember, everyone else your age has them too!

No. The most common causes of acne are:
Hormonal activity, such as menstrual cycles and puberty
Stress, through increased output of hormones from the adrenal (stress) glands.
Hyperactive sebaceous glands, secondary to the three hormone sources above.
Accumulation of dead skin cells.
Bacteria in the pores, to which the body becomes 'allergic'.
Skin irritation or scratching of any sort will activate inflammation.
Use of anabolic steroids.
Any medication containing halogens (iodides, chlorides, bromides), lithium, barbiturates, or androgens.

No masturbation has nothing to do with acne. Acne is caused by the staph bacteria so masturbation will not increase nor decrease acne.

Acne is caused by a blockage of the skin pore. Blockages come from excess oil and dirt that plug the pore and cause an irritation. Lots of things can cause excess oil, but masturbation is not one of them.

Good grief! Do they teach kids ANYTHING in sex ed class these days?? No you do not get acne because of too much masterbation. You also won't go blind if you do it too much or have hairy palms...Masterbation is normal and will not hurt you. Happy masterbating ;) !!
