Nice Pen Sets and Portfolios. Both are appropriate and gender neutral not to mention useful.
You could also get nice business card holders and have their names engraved on them if you pick up the "plated" variety.

Baskets filled with little goodies that they like.....for a chocolate lover you could different chocolate candies, hot cocoa, etc, for a coffee drinker different coffees, cookies, a mug, etc. for that extra hard worker you could fill a basket with different items they could pamper themselves with....a relaxation CD, candles, bath salts, lotion, etc.....you could make different "themes" depending on their individual likes.... Have fun with it, and because you are showing that you were really putting an effort into what they like I am sure these gifts would be super appreciated!....then again, you could always go the easy route and get them a gift card to their fave shopping spot.... :-)

I am going to be making goodies for my co-workers and some associates. I make some easy to do Candy's like chocolate dipped pretzels and peanut clusters and other chocolate dipped things and maybe some cookies.....that is easy to mass produce and costs less than buying gifts for everyone, but everyone always loves it. Just make sure if you do something like that to keep in mind certain dietary needs....if anyone is diabetic or on a serious diet you may want to alter their goodie bag to fit their needs.

For the women, how about candles or a basket of some sort from bath & body works, or a bottle of wine. For the man, does he drink? Perhaps a bottle of liquor? If he does not drink then maybe a gift certificate to a store or restaurant.

I have always appreciated either a gift-certificate for a lunch somewhere, or home-made/baked goods. How about a nice-looking day planner? Not knowing your budget, it is hard to make a good suggestion.

I would get some movie tickets/ card for movies/popcorn etc. Many ppl will not go, due to it being "too expensive". During this time of year, or any, it is nice to have some free time to yourself!
